Question:
To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister to detail any consideration they have given to transferring responsibility for the implementation of the High Street Task Force Delivering a 21st Century High Street report to the Department for the Economy.

Answer:

The scope of the High Street Taskforce recommendations lie within the responsibilities of a number of departments and we are of the view that they should be taken forward by a cross-departmental group of the relevant departments, along with local councils.

Therefore we wrote to Ministerial colleagues at the Department for Communities, Department for Economy, Department for Finance and Department for Infrastructure on 10th October 2024, asking them to consider the recommendations and determine the way forward, bringing matters to the Executive for consideration as necessary.
