Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy who is responsible for providing personal care to students with special educational needs and disabilities who require this in further education colleges.

Answer:
The Health and Social Care Trusts under the leadership of the Department for Health, are responsible for providing arrangements to address personal care needs for people with disabilities, learning difficulties or significant health issues.
Should a person in receipt of a personal care allowance, be it through Direct Payments or otherwise wish to attend a college course, the Further Education colleges will facilitate them in bringing their care service with them while they study.
