To ask the Minister for the Economy, in line with the commitment to expand the student numbers at the Ulster University Magee campus, to detail any discussions he has had with Executive colleagues to ensure the full range of community services are also enhanced to meet anticipated future demand.

Answer:

The Magee Expansion Taskforce Interim Report emphasises the need for a coordinated, cross-departmental approach to successfully expand student numbers at Ulster University's Magee campus. In light of this, I have written to my Executive colleagues, requesting their feedback and commitment to addressing the key Asks outlined in the report, which includes seeking an understanding of the potential impact on community services. I expect to receive responses in the coming days, which will be used to help shape the Taskforce's final report and action plan, for publication in December. The Department of Health, as a member of the Taskforce, will continue to play an active role in discussions.
