Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail the actions taken in response to the findings of the departmentally-commissioned assessors in relation to the governance of CCEA, appointed in October 2022 as referenced in FOI/2024-0087.

Answer:

The DE assessors made a number of recommendations related to the governance of the organisation, including the structure of CCEA Council, its committees and the need for a DE/CCEA Partnership Agreement.

An action plan has been developed, informed by these recommendations which includes actions for DE and CCEA.

As outlined in the response to FOI/2024-0087, implementation of this plan is ongoing and is largely exempt from disclosure under Section 35(1)(a) (the formulation or development of government policy) until all actions are complete.
