To ask the Minister for Communities when the Welcome Organisation will have new premises.

Answer:

This issue is an operational matter for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. I have sought the requested information from the Chief Executive and been advised that:

“The process to secure new premises for the Welcome Organisation is ongoing and we are continuing to explore options. However, there are several factors which are taken into account in any relocation process. This includes planning, leases, cost, readiness of the premises for occupation, location, proximity to businesses and communities, etc.

Therefore, it is not possible to provide a timeline for securing alternative premises.”
