Question:
To ask the Minister of Health for his assessment of the accessibility of the public consultation on policy proposals to inform the development of a new Public Health Bill for Northern Ireland.

Answer:

The Department has engaged in a consultation process in line with best practice, as is found in, among other documents, The NICS Guide To Making Policy That Works – (Executiveoffice-Ni.Gov.Uk).

As some misunderstandings developed around some aspects of the consultation, on the 4 October 2024 the Department published a ‘fact file’ to help address some of the key concerns around the introduction of this Bill.
