Question:
To ask the Minister of Education (i) for his assessment of the 14 - 19 Framework within the NI Audit Office report Developing the skills for Northern Ireland's future; and (ii) to detail any action he is taking following this review.

Answer:

My Department is jointly responsible for delivery of the 14-19 Education and Training Framework along with the Department for the Economy.

As reflected in the Northern Ireland Audit Office report on the Department for Economy’s strategy ‘Developing the skills for Northern Ireland’s future’ work has already progressed to address issues identified in the governance and implementation of the 14-19 Framework.

It would be inappropriate to comment any further in detail in advance of a Public Accounts Committee (PAC) hearing on these issues scheduled for 21 November, the PAC’s subsequent report and the DoF Minister’s response to that report.
