Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure why Translink is not providing additional bus services from Strangford to Downpatrick during the suspension of the Strangford Lough ferry service.

Answer:

This issue is an operational matter for Translink. I have sought the requested information and can confirm that Translink engaged with stakeholders regarding the passenger-only operation on the Strangford Ferry service from 14th October 2024 to 18th November 2024. School pupils were advised to avail of the ferry service to connect with their bus in Strangford.

In addition, Translink are providing an extra vehicle for the provision of school transport, from Portaferry to Assumption Grammar School.
