To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail any consideration he has given to developing a single college governance model with fully integrated shared services but operating via local campuses to replace the current regional colleges, as recommended by the Independent Review of Education.

Answer:

The recommendations from the Independent Review of Education are still under consideration. I am looking forward to the Education Minister bringing forward a paper to the Executive in relation to the review and I look forward to further engagement on this.

My officials have commenced work on a co-designed Further Education Tranformation programme, and whilst developing a single college governance model is not one of the 25 key recommendations, all recommendations will be considered in conjuction with that work.
