To ask the Minister for the Economy for an update on any reports and research (i) completed; and (ii) planned to determine the affordability, suitability and standard of student accommodation provided by higher and further education facilities.

Answer:

There are no reports or research completed or planned. However, the interim report of the Magee Taskforce (available here: Magee Taskforce interim report | Department for the Economy) does highlight the lack of student accommodation as a key constraint on the expansion of Ulster University’s Magee campus and suggests action from the local council and the university to help address this.
