Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance for an update on the timeline for finalising public sector pay awards for 2024-25.

Answer:

While there has been informal engagement with trade unions, the ongoing uncertainty around the budget, means the Civil Service has not yet been able to begin formal negotiations for the 2024 pay award (which was due from 1 August). I very much hope that there will be sufficient budgetary clarity to enable those negotiations to begin in November.
