Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail any engagement his Department has had with the UK Government to address the fact that properties built after 2009 are excluded from the UK Flood Re scheme.

Answer:

The Department engaged with the UK Government when the Flood Re scheme was being established in 2014 to ensure that the North was included. The 2009 criteria was set by the UK Government and reflected the fact that by 2009 planning policy and flood mapping was available to discourage development in flood plains.

There is ongoing engagement between my Department and DEFRA on the Flood Re scheme as required.
