To ask the Minister of Finance for an updated timeline of the Budget 2025-26 process following the Autumn Budget 2024.

Answer:

The funding envelope for 2025-26 was announced on 30 October with the settlement for further years to be announced in spring 2025. As a result, the Executive will only be able to set a single year Budget for 2025-26 before the start of the financial year in April.

It is my intention, subject to Executive agreement, to publish a draft Budget by early December to allow time for a full 12 week consultation before a final Budget is agreed by the Executive prior to the start of the new financial year.
