Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, pursuant to AQW 14633/22-27, to detail the pre-works engagement he intends to undertake with local (i) residents; and (ii) businesses in relation to the resurfacing scheme on the A24 Ormeau Road and Saintfield Road.

Answer:

My Department recognises the importance of effective engagement with local communities to ensure that any planned works are carried out with minimal disruption and maximum cooperation. Prior to the commencement of the resurfacing scheme, my officials will provide advance notification to local residents and businesses including information on the nature and timing of the works, any potential traffic management arrangements, and alternative routes, where applicable.

Engagement will take the form of written notifications, local media announcements, and updates on associated online platforms. Where necessary, direct consultation with key stakeholders, including local businesses and residents’ groups, will be undertaken to address specific concerns or requirements.

My Department is committed to maintaining open lines of communication throughout the planning and delivery phases of this scheme to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and feedback is considered.
