Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether money allocated to schools who are establishing a Specialist Provision in a Mainstream School is specifically earmarked for that purpose or do schools have discretion on how to spend this funding.

Answer:
None of the funding allocated to schools for specialist provision classes is earmarked.
Teaching and non-teaching staff costs are paid from the Education Authority’s (EA) central budget.
