Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail the action he is taking to address low pay in the arts sector.

Answer:

Funding for the arts sector is distributed on behalf of my Department by the Arts Council. It is not the role of my Department or the Arts Council to prescribe rates of pay. The Arts Council is however committed to fair pay for artists and produces guidance on Rates of Pay for Artists which is accessible on its website at https://artscouncil-ni.s3-assets.com/ACNI-Rates-of-Pay-for-Artists-March-2022.pdf.
