To ask the Minister for Infrastructure how he ensures that temporary infrastructure, erected during roadworks being carried out by either his Department or contractors, accounts for the needs of pedestrians.

Answer:

Where works on or adjacent to the road network require restrictions to the available width of the footway or carriageway, it is the responsibility of the scheme designer to ensure that appropriate Temporary Traffic Management is designed and implemented. This may include temporary infrastructure, erected during roadworks, to facilitate the safe passage of all road users.
