To ask the Minister of Education whether Operation Encompass can be used to support children and young people at risk from the threat of paramilitaries or child criminal exploitation.

The Operation Encompass initiative relates to domestic abuse and cannot be used to support children or young people at risk from the threat of paramilitaries or child criminal exploitation.

The initiative is delivered under regulations that facilitate information-sharing in specific circumstances. The scope of these regulations does not provide the necessary legislative cover to extend information sharing to children at risk from paramilitary activity or child criminal exploitation.
