Question:
To ask the Minister of Health for an update on the implementation of the GP referral pathway for asylum seekers.

Answer:

The Department, supported by the Business Services Organisation and Health and Social Care Trusts, has piloted a managed pathway to GP registration for people seeking asylum as close to the point of entry to Northern Ireland as possible. The pilot scheme started on 1 August 2024. A review of the scheme is ongoing and is intended to complete by the end January 2025.
