Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail any improvements that can be made to the lighting and safety features of car park 8 Broadway that is used by staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Answer:

The Belfast Health and Social Care Trust have advised that car park 8 at Broadway currently has CCTV coverage which is monitored 24/7 by security staff, pedestrian and vehicle access gates which are access controlled out of hours and adequate lighting that meets all UK standards for car-parking lighting.

In late October 2024 a fault with the car park lighting was reported to the car park services team. Northern Ireland Electricity recently reviewed the fault, and the Trust is currently waiting on their report / recommendation. It is hoped that remedial work to rectify the fault will commence in the near future.
