Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs whether his Department is implementing any measures to increase recycling rates in buildings used by his Department or its arm's-length bodies.

Answer:

Within Departmental buildings there are a range of measures in place to ensure recycling of waste takes place.

In order to increase recycling rates where waste has been generated, staff are reminded of the need and benefits of recycling through signage and ongoing communication, and training is also available.

Departmental officials are also engaging with the Department of Finance to investigate how to improve waste and recycling contracts.
