To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail his plans in relation to the roll-out of roadside diesel particulate testing in the future.

Answer:

A Consultation Report on the proposal to introduce diesel particulate testing during MOT testing and roadside spot checks in the north was published on 19 November 2024 and can be viewed at the following link: Consultation Report - Changing the exhaust emissions test for light vehicles with a modern diesel engine

Following this report, my officials are preparing recommendations on the next steps for my consideration.
