To ask the Minister of Health, pursuant to AQW 17492/22-27, to provide a timeline of when he plans to begin work at a regional level to take forward a targeted screening programme.

Answer:

As outlined in AQW 17492/22-27, we are at the early stages of scoping out what the requirements of a targeted lung cancer screening programme, for those at high risk of the disease for Northern Ireland will be. It is anticipated that this work will begin in 2025, subject to financial considerations.
