Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy for his assessment of whether his Department will deliver the target of 80 per cent electricity consumption from renewable sources by 2030.

Question 14 – AQO 1226/22-27

One of my four critical objectives for the Economy is to reduce carbon emissions; generating sufficient renewable electricity is key to facilitate this change.

We must build on our previous success in renewables development and the Executive needs to take a collaborative, whole system approach to deliver the 80% by 2030 target.

Whilst my Department has legislative responsibility for the target, collaboration across departments and with wider stakeholders, including industry, will be essential to the successful delivery of this target.
