Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities, following the commitment to multi-year budgets expressed in the Executive's Budget Sustainability Plan, whether he intends to provide multi-year Supporting People budgets with recurrent annual inflationary uplifts to ensure adequate funding for the homelessness sector.

Answer:

In line with the Spending Review outcome for 2025-26, announced on 30 October 2024, the Executive can only set a Budget for the incoming financial year. The funding for this request will be assessed within the resource envelope allocated to my Department by the Executive for 2025/26 alongside other Departmental and Ministerial priorities.

My Department has provided provisional information for Budget 2026-27 and 2027-28 to allow the Executive to consider the longer-term implications of any spending decisions.
