Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether the plans for an upgrade to the A1 will include improved lighting.

Answer:

The A1 Junctions Phase 2 scheme will include for new and improved lighting at a number of strategic locations along the route in line with my Department’s policy.

Additional lighting will be included at the four new compact grade separated junctions and improved lighting, using LED technologies, will also be provided at a number of existing minor road junctions connecting to the A1, which are currently illuminated and are to be upgraded as part of the proposed project.
