Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail any discussions his Department has had with the Department for Infrastructure to address transport barriers to access to employment for people with disabilities, including how this will be addressed in his Disability and Employment Strategy.

Answer:

In developing the Disability Strategy and considering the needs of Deaf and disabled people, my Department is working with all Executive departments. Engagement with the Department for Infrastructure is ongoing and I can confirm that this will include consideration on how transport issues can be addressed.

Additionally, the Department continues to deliver the Access to Work (NI) Programme which supports disabled people to access employment, including travel to and from work.
