Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy how his Department is promoting initiatives that encourage ethical treatment of animals within the tourism sector.

Answer:

Tourism NI supports and promotes several visitor experiences who work with animals as an integral part of their offer, delivering on the key visitor motivations of connecting with local people, authenticity and sustainability.

Where experience providers or attractions would benefit from specialist advice on animal welfare or related issues, Tourism NI refers them to colleagues in the Department for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs who are best placed to advise on such matters.
