Question:
To ask the Minister of Health, following the publication of the Cervical Cytology Review reports in December 2024, whether he will agree to a statutory public inquiry.

Answer:

Following the publication of the two factual reports a detailed analysis of the findings of the Cervical Cytology Review Outcomes report will be commissioned by the PHA. It is expected that this analysis, supported by appropriate independent experts, will be completed in January 2025.

These reports will help inform my consideration of the next steps. As Health Minister I remain committed to finding the most appropriate method to understand what happened and to learn lessons to ensure that our screening programmes deliver on behalf of our population. These reports will help inform my consideration of the next steps.
