Question:
To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 19294/22-27, whether funding to schools for outdoor play will be earmarked for that purpose.

Answer:

All of the £4m will be allocated directly to the schools and pre-school settings for the purposes of purchasing outdoor learning equipment. The Department is in discussion with the Education Authority regarding the appropriate procurement frameworks from which schools will be able to select items most suitable to their requirements. Full guidance will be provided to schools in the coming weeks.
