Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy when he intends to publish an updated Innovation Strategy.

Answer:

I have outlined, in my economic vision, my four economic priorities of creating good jobs, increasing productivity, promoting regional balance and decarbonisation. Innovation is a key driver across all these priorities, playing a particular role in driving productivity across our economy.

While there are currently no plans to publish an updated Innovation Strategy, my department remains committed to driving innovation through strong collaboration and co-design with stakeholders across our innovation ecosystem. Activities are focused on three priorities of accelerating Research and Development (R&D), delivering more and better Innovation Driven Enterprises (IDEs) and supporting innovation across the wider business base. Supporting innovative growth will form part of a wider programme of work, taken forward by my department, to deliver my economic vision.
