To ask the Minister of Education why he has denied Transformation to Integrated status for Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College and Rathmore Primary School, despite the recommendation for this by his Department's officials.

Answer:

The recommendations presented to me by officials in respect of both of these Development Proposals (DP) noted the “on balance” nature of the decisions I was being invited to take. Ultimately it is my responsibility to decide on proposals and in doing so there may be occasion where my decisions do not follow the recommendations made.
