To ask the Minister of Education whether he intends to introduce legislation related to special educational needs provision, including the purpose of such legislation and expected timescales.

Answer:

As part of the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Reform Agenda, the department will consider the need for a more streamlined single legislative Act on SEN provision, while also ensuring alignment with the direction of travel towards a more inclusive education system in Northern Ireland.
