Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for an update on any proposed usage of Balnamore Primary School following the decision to close the school at the end of the 2024-25 academic year.

Answer:

As a decision has been taken on Development Proposal (DP) 729 it is up to the proposer in this case the Education Authority (EA) to implement the outcome of the DP in full. In the decision I made I expressed for the EA to give urgent consideration as to how this well-equipped school with good accommodation and facilities can be repurposed to consolidate controlled provision in the area and other educational needs that may exist.

It is up to the EA to consider any future usage of the accommodation.
