To ask the Minister for the Economy, pursuant to AQW 16137/22-27, to provide an update on this research.

Answer:

The Department of Finance recently announced plans to commission a study into the cost of doing business. There was potential for overlap between this study and our planned research into the night-time economy. It is important to avoid duplication and ensure value for money. My officials, together with Tourism NI and the three Business Improvement Districts in Belfast, have therefore refined the specification of the research and expect work to commence in the near future.
