To ask the Minister of Finance to detail the (i) roles; and (ii) responsibilities of the Head of the Policy Profession in the Northern Ireland Civil Service.

ANSWER

The roles and responsibilities of Heads of Professions in the Civil Service are currently under review, but the role of the Head of the Policy Profession currently includes supporting the development of those working in policy teams, ensuring effective communications about the policy function, setting standards for professional skills, and embedding professional standards in HR processes.
