Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail the work he is undertaking to grow the software skills pipeline.

Answer:

In June 2024, I launched my Department’s Software and Cyber Sectoral Plan, which includes a number of actions focused on improving skills within the sector.

Following this in September 2024, I then launched my Digital Skills Action plan which was developed in collaboration with industry and educational experts.

Officials are working with our delivery partners across industry and academia to grow the skills pipeline for the software sector, to ensure it has the people with the skills it requires.
