Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for a detailed timescale for the introduction of Special Educational Needs Regulations.

Answer:

My officials are currently finalising the new Special Educational Needs (SEN) Framework, which incorporates the new SEN Regulations and the associated statutory Code of Practice. Once all the necessary approvals are in place they will be presented to the Education Committee for scrutiny and will then commence their legislative journey through the Northern Ireland Assembly.

It is currently my intention to bring forward the revised SEN Regulations to the Executive for consideration before the end of this mandate.
