Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy whether the independent review of Tourist Accommodation will consider the impact of tourism accommodation markets on local housing markets.

Answer:

The primary objective of the independent assessment is to consider the future provision of visitor accommodation across the North in order to support the growth of tourism.

An assessment of the impact of tourism accommodation markets on local housing markets was outside the scope of this project. However, my officials are engaging with the Department for Communities to support its 'Housing Supply Strategy: A Home for Everyone, 2024 - 2039' wherever possible.
