To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 20409/22-27, to detail any engagement his Department has had with Home Office to prepare for the introduction of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act.

Answer:

Tom Tugendhat MP, Security Minister wrote to the Head of the NICS and Permanent Secretaries in December 2022 to provide an update on developments for the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act, a UK wide piece of legislation also known as ‘Martyn’s Law’ which is expected later this year.

In preparation for the Act the Education Authority will be progressing appropriate work with schools.
