Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail the funding stream used to award £710,000 to Lisneal College, without application, for a new football pitch.

Answer:

The scheme to replace the 3G pitch surface at Lisneal College will be funded from the Education Authority’s Other Capital/Minor Works budget for 2024/25 and 2025/26 financial years, as the project will span both financial years.

When an issue impacting on safety is uncovered in a school, irrespective of whether the school made an application, the Department and Education Authority will take action to deal with the problem following the appropriate assessments.
