Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail any capital funding programmes currently open to schools to apply for funding.

Answer:

There are not currently any capital funding programmes open to schools to apply for funding. However, if a school identifies an issue which meets the current Ministerial Priority 1 criteria, i.e. minor works that meet inescapable statutory requirements such as Health and Safety, fire protection or statutory obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act, they can submit an ‘Unavoidable Minor Works Application' to either the Department of Education, if it is a maintained, voluntary grammar, grant-maintained integrated or Irish-medium school, or the Education Authority, if it is a controlled school.
