Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail any engagement his Department has had with the Department for the Economy to seek an increase in the student finance provision for those undertaking allied health professional degree courses.

Answer:

Officials from the Workforce Policy Directorate in my Department met with Department for the Economy officials on 8 November 2023. Discussions included the future possibility of introducing changes to the package of support for those undertaking allied health professional degree courses. There has been no further engagement on this matter, however my officials will work closely with the Department for Economy should any changes be proposed to the current arrangements.
