To ask the Minister of Finance to detail the number of staff currently awaiting an Occupational Health Service medical assessment.

Answer:

There are different types of medical assessment carried out by the NICS’ Occupational Health Service. Data included in the table below is correct at 7 February 2025

Pre-employment	32 members of staff are awaiting assessment. 14 of these have been allocated an appointment within the next 2 weeks.
Fitness for work	122 members of staff are awaiting assessment. 57 of these have been allocated an appointment within the next 2 weeks. 2 members of staff cancelled a previous appointment that had been scheduled and are awaiting a new appointment to be allocated.
Injury Awards & Pension referrals	53 members of staff are awaiting assessment. An appointment is not required for this type of referral.
Health Surveillance	582 members of staff are awaiting assessment. 121 of these have been allocated an appointment within the next 2 weeks. 42 members of staff cancelled a previous appointment that had been scheduled and are awaiting a new appointment to be allocated.
