Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, pursuant to AQW 20604/22-27, to detail any consideration given to the use of planters as an alternative means of traffic calming.

Answer:
The use of planters has not been considered as a method of traffic calming at Onslow Parade and Ravenhill Park, Belfast as without additional supporting measures, such as build-outs etc, they are not a suitable standalone method of controlling traffic. The initial cost of purchasing and ongoing maintenance costs would be prohibitive, and they may have potential to attract anti-social behaviour.
