To ask the Minister for the Economy for an update on the review of the Further Education delivery model.

Question 12 – AQO 1521/22-27

I am very supportive of the critical role played by Further Education Colleges in delivering the skills which the economy needs by providing learners wit high quality vocational and technical education. With courses available from access level to post graduate level, colleges have courses to suit learners of all ages.

Additionally, our colleges provide support to many businesses to help them to innovate and grow. This locally based provision is critical to ensuring all areas are able to benefit from economic growth.

My Department will be taking forward a co-designed programme of work in conjunction with Further Education Colleges over the next 24 months to review the Further Education delivery model.

This work aims to promote greater consistency in the provision of technical and vocational educational pathways as well as innovation support for employers in pursuit of my Economic Vision.
