Question:
To ask the Minister of Health whether he will commit to delivering a Real Living Wage in social care.

Answer:

As indicated at the Health Committee meeting on 7 January 2025, it is my intention to make the social care sector a Real Living Wage sector. I am planning to commence introduction in the 2025/26 financial year. This will require additional investment of around £50m, that is, in addition to the £70m invested in the sector in 2024/25.
