To ask the Minister for Communities to detail any research his Department has carried out to review the average income for individuals in the arts sector, such as artists, performers and craftspeople, including where the data can be accessed.

Answer:

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland commissioned research undertaken by Perspective Economics to inform the report ‘The Arts Council of Northern Ireland Working and Living Conditions of Artists in Northern Ireland’. This study sought to understand, as of 2024, what the income determinants and challenges are for artists in Northern Ireland.
