Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on the ownership of the historic Chapel Lock on the Lagan Navigational Canal to the north of Aghagallon.

Answer:

My Department owns Chapel Lock, however it was abandoned under the Inland Navigation Act (NI) in 1954. While the towpath along this stretch remains under my Department’s ownership, it has been leased to Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Council for 99 years since 2001.
