Question:
To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister to detail the plans they made during 2024 for the way forward in relation to filling the post of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.

Answer:

During 2024, a Skills Audit for the position of Commissioner for Public Appointments was conducted, and following consideration of the way forward, a panel was convened, with the Competition Initiation Meeting taking place in October, alongside the preparation of competition documentation.

We have approved the submission from officials regarding the process to appoint a Commissioner for Public Appointments, and the competition will be launched shortly.
